The Guidance Center

The mission of the Guidance Center is to improve the behavioral health of the people of our community. The Guidance Center is the provider of choice for behavioral health in Northern Arizona, offering a full range of high quality, cost effective services. Established in 1969, The Guidance Center is a Community Mental Health Center that offers a full continuum of Behavioral Health programs and services for children, adolescents, adults, and families. Services are tailored to meet individual and family needs, and include: Outpatient Services, Child and Family Services, Substance Abuse Outpatient Program, Psychiatry - Medical Services, Community Living Services, Psychological Testing, Pharmacies, and Acute Hospital Services.

The Guidance Center is a 35,000 square foot, two story facility which required careful design to provide appropriate separation between the Center's three main functional areas. The Center offers mental health and substance abuse counseling and treatment, in both residential and outpatient settings. Designed to create an inviting residential feel, the Center includes administrative offices, large public lobby, outpatient counseling offices, group rooms, residential area and conference spaces. The Phase II facility, occupied in 2006, includes 27,000 square feet of outpatient counseling space for youth and adults. The design features separated circulation to isolate the two populations, while being served by common staff. The Phase III facility, occupied in 2007, is a 24 hour in-house substance abuse recovery unit with full time staff.
