The Weatherford Hotel

JWA has been working with the owners of the Weatherford Hotel on a series of remodels and expansions for the past ten years.  The Weatherford is the oldest hotel in town, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  It is a major landmark in downtown Flagstaff.  Completed projects include a kitchen addition and the new copper “witch’s hat”, an accurately detailed replacement for the original that burned in the hotel’s early history.

The firm is presently working on a major restoration project, which includes reconstructing the interior primary framing system from basement to the roof, construction of new exterior balconies to match the historic removed balconies, and a west addition to include interior stairs and elevator.  Interior work includes  restoration of the original lobby, the “Gopher Hole”, a new basement bar and dining venue, expansion to the Zane Grey Ballroom and creation of new guestrooms on the second floor.
