Coconino County Jail

Johnson Walzer Associates as associate architect, participated in programming, and was responsible for agency reviews, local coordination and construction administration for this building. Constructed at the former sawmill location, the complex included four major contracts: site development, county jail, sheriff/police headquarters and county jail unit 'C' addition. The firm assisted the Sheriff's Department and the Police Department throughout the entire planning and construction process including site selection, design review board submittals and coordination with city requirements.

The jail minimum through maximum security housing units and a support services building. The support services building features administrative offices, officer training, booking, release, medical, laundry, storage, kitchen, and vehicle sally port. A work release facility and on site courtroom are also included.
