Navajo County Public Works Complex
This new 33,000 square foot Public Works Complex will replace the existing Holbrook Road Yard. The project provides a 10,844 SF Maintenance Area, 12,247 SF Office Area to include a large conference room for emergency operations, two separate 2,000 SF storage buildings, a 3,500 SF Vehicle Wash Building and Fueling Facilities. The new complex is being constructed on an 11 acre site near the northwest intersection of Highways 77 and 377, just south of Holbrook. Site design provides maneuvering space for the oversize maintenance vehicles and careful separation of circulation for private small vehicles from the large service trucks. Parking is provided for thirty privately owned vehicles. The site is master planned to provide space for future buildings and material lay down areas.
The project features extensive use of day-lighting and LED lighting to minimize electric usage. With a tight construction budget the design team worked closely with the CMAR in analyzing all systems. To further save construction dollars, Navajo County is partnering with the CMAR who is providing in-house construction services.
